As someone who grows her own veggies and advocates for local, sustainable and organic foods, I was so pleased to find today’s Gluten Freedom Week featured restaurant, Mildred’s Temple Kitchen.

A hidden gem in the heart of Liberty Village, Temple Kitchen is proud to serve locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, simply and sumptuously prepared, and served with pleasure. According to Michael at Mildred’s Temple Kitchen, the restaurant opened with a heartfelt philosophy: “We love food and we love people… so why not bring them together in a fun way!”

Open since 2008, Mildred’s Temple Kitchen has always served vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. During this year’s Gluten Freedom Week, the restaurant will be serving a special three-course prix fixe menu for $35:

First Course
Chef’s Soup:
Soup prepared daily with wholesome ingredients that reflect the season, vegetarian and gluten friendly


Chef’s Salad:
Salad of Roast pear, pomegranate glazed beets, blande frisee, Ontario blue cheese and walnut vinaigrette


Tea Cured Trout with shaved fennel, celery, radishes and stone fruit

Second Course

Kimchi Buttered Trout with Eggplant Puree, Yuzu Compressed Apples, Cabbage, Sprouts and Buttermilk Dressing


Sumac Crusted Hen* (1/2) with Warm Chickpea Puree, Cucumber, Parsley and Radish Salad, Pressed Yoghurt and Pomegranate Molasses
*Vegetarian option:-Sumac Crusted Mushrooms instead of Hen


Black Olive Caramel and Coffee Glazed Baby Back Ribs w/Spicy White Bean Puree and Garlic Braised Kale


Nutella semi freddo made with bourbon maple syrup and toasted hazelnuts


Chocolate marquis with cherry compte, almond brittle, and Chantilly crème
